
Observing that faulty policies of Bush administrations has let other countries to outpace US in various fields, particularly in the field of renewable energy, President Barack Obama on Tuesday vowed to enforce policies that would make America again the leader of the world.
"I do not accept a future where the jobs and industries of tomorrow take root beyond our borders. It is time for America to lead again," Obama said in his address at Georgetown University in Washington.
Observing that everyone knows that the country that harnesses renewable energy will lead the 21st century, Obama said: "Yet we have allowed other countries to outpace us on this race to the future."
Obama vowed to reform the education system that would make the US again the top countries of the world in the 21st century. Without naming India and China, which he had done in the past specially during his election campaign, Obama said that But in this new economy the US trails the world's leaders in graduation rates and achievement.
"That is why we have set a goal that will greatly enhance our ability to compete for the high-wage, high-tech jobs of the 21st century: by 2020, America will once more have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world," Obama said.
