Washington: A pastor in the United States plans to gather his congregation to burn Bibles and religious books by various Christian authors, including Mother Teresa, because they are "Satanic".

Marc Grizzard, a pastor with the Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Canton, North Carolina, said he and his congregation plan to come together to burn Bibles on Halloween, October 31.

The New Revised Version Bible, the American Standard Version Bible, and even the New King James Version are all pronounced to be works of the Devil by Pastor Grizzard and his followers.

Grizzard said the first King James translation of the Bible is the only true declaration of Gods word, and that all others are "satanic".

The religious leader along with other members of the church also plan to burn copies of the other "perversions" of scripture on Halloween.

"I believe the King James version is Gods preserved, inspired, inerrant, infallible word of God for English-speaking people," Grizzard was quoted as saying by the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

"We are burning books that we believe to be Satanic," he underlined.
