Copenhagen: The Danish police have shot and wounded a man trying to enter the house of Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, whose depiction of Prophet Muhammad has sparked an international row.
Denmark's intelligence service said the police foiled an attempt to kill Westergaard after a 28-year-old Somalia man armed with an axe and a knife entered his home.
The Somali man was shot in the knee and shoulder.
The cartoon, printed in 2005, had prompted violent protests.
