Victoria:
After inundating Queensland and it's capital city Brisbane, the floods in Australia continue to wreak havoc in Victoria and New South Wales.
In north Victoria, a four-month old toddler was separated from her mother as the floodwater cut off the road between Yamba and Grafton.
Shaleah McNeice stayed with her grandparents in Yamba for a couple of days until the State Emergency Service ferried her to Grafton where her mother leaves.
But not everyone has been as lucku as Shaleah. a seven-year old boy disappeared while swimming in a small lake off the swollen Goulburn River at Kialla West in the state's north. State Emergency Service workers conducted a six-hour search for the missing boy.
But hope is fading as there was no sign of him till the search was finally called off... late on monday night. Fears are growing that he could be the first life claimed by floods in Victoria.
According to Australian government reports, the ongoing floods could be the country's most expensive natural disaster ever.
And the flooding is not finished; Victoria State Emergency Services have warned that the town of Horsham could face a major flood during Tuesday's expected peak of the Wimmera River. This would worsen further by electricity supplier Powercor sandbagging its substation to ensure it remains dry.
