Vienna:
An Austrian woman who was kidnapped at age 10 says she was repeatedly beaten, starved and forced to do housework half-naked during her 8 1/2 years at the mercy of a man who admired Hitler and considered himself an Egyptian god.
Natascha Kampusch was snatched off a Vienna street on her way to school and held prisoner in a dungeon until she fled in August 2006. Her abductor, Wolfgang Priklopil, committed suicide within hours of her escape. The case captivated Austria and sent shock waves around the world.
Kampusch also says in a new book titled 3,096 Days that Priklopil shaved off all her hair and shackled her to him on his bed after she turned 14.
The book will be officially launched at a book reading Thursday.
