Washington:
US President Barack Obama left Washington Saturday for the G20 summit that begins this weekend in Turkey and is now expected to focus on the fight against terror following the Paris attacks.
The leaders of the world's top 20 industrialized nations were set to deal with an already packed agenda before the killing of at least 129 people in Paris.
The White House said earlier in the day that Obama would convene his National Security Council to review intelligence before leaving for the two-day summit in Antalya.
Officials have insisted they will not allow those behind the Paris attacks to derail the summit from achieving its original aims, with talks expected to touch on everything from Syria to tax avoidance and climate change.
The G20 leaders began arriving Saturday, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, South African President Jacob Zuma and newly elected Canadian Premier Justin Trudeau.
French President Francois Hollande canceled his visit to the G20, his office said, and will be represented instead by Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and Finance Minister Michel Sapin.
The summit is expected to get under way at midday Sunday (1000 GMT), by which time Obama and other heavyweight leaders including Russian President Vladimir Putin will also have arrived.
