Goma, DR Congo: Twenty six people have been killed in an attack on Beni, a major town in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a Congolese army spokesman told AFP on Thursday.
Civil society groups in the Nord-Kivu region said the attack overnight Wednesday to Thursday in Beni was carried out by an Islamist group called Allied Democratic Forces.
