Blast during a religious gathering in Pak, 20 killed

Chakwal: A blast has occurred in Chakwal in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Around 20 people have been killed while 150 are injured, media reports in Pakistan said.

The explosion happened in the heart of the city during an annual religious gathering. Around two thousand people were attending the gathering.

The Rescue operation at the blast site is on.

Meanwhile, reacting to the incident, Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that they need to stay united.

This blast comes a day after the explosion in Islamabad on Saturday wherein eight security personnel were killed and five were injured.

A suicide bomber in Islamabad targeted a camp of paramilitary troops assigned to guard VIPs in the heart of the Pakistani capital near the United Nations office.

The attacker sneaked into a camp of the Frontier Corps located a short distance from the busy Jinnah Supermarket and blew himself up shortly after 7.30 pm when the paramilitary troops were having dinner, police officials said.
