Parachinar, Pakistan:
A government official says a roadside bomb has killed seven members of an anti-Taliban militia in north-western Pakistan.
Fazal Naeem says a roadside bomb exploded near the militiamen's vehicle in the Orakzai tribal area on Thursday.
He says the men were on their way to a meeting to discuss strategy to counter the Pakistani Taliban.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Taliban have killed many such militiamen in the past.
Earlier on Thursday, the Taliban claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on a police station elsewhere in northwest Pakistan that wounded one officer.
The attacks come at a time when many of the country's main political parties are meeting to discuss an offer of peace talks by the Taliban.
