Karachi: A bomb exploded near the Chinese consulate in Karachi's upmarket Clifton area on Monday, Dawn reported. Two people, including a paramilitary personnel, were injured today in the low-intensity blast, police said.
There were no reports of casualties or damage within the consulate.
A car and two motorcycles were damaged by the blast.
Police officials told the media that a bomb was planted on a motorcycle parked near a building located adjacent to the consulate in Clifton area of Karachi.
Footage on television showed the area had been cordoned off by personnel of the paramilitary Pakistan Rangers.
Rescue teams and additional security personnel rushed to the site.
Clifton area is where late Pakistani president Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's mansion is located.
