Bomb blast at Pak mosque, many injured

Islamabad: A bomb exploded at a minority Shiite mosque in eastern Pakistan on Sunday wounding several worshippers.

The attack appeared to be the latest in a string by Sunni extremists against other Muslims they consider infidels.

Tasneem Qureshi, Junior Interior Minister, said the blast took place at a mosque in Sargodha city, which is in Punjab, the country's most populous province. He said several people had been wounded, but could not give an exact figure.

Earlier this month, militants bombed a Muslim shrine in the Punjabi city of Lahore, killing more than 40 people.

US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was visiting Pakistan on Sunday, but was meeting officials hundreds kilometres away in capital Islamabad.
