Brasilia, Brazil:
Hackers accessed the Brazilian federal police's Twitter account on Saturday and posted a message about a supposed bomb threat at the stadium hosting the Brazil-Chile World Cup game.
The message was posted shortly before the crunch round-of-16 knock-out game at the Mineirao Stadium in the southeastern city of Belo Horizonte.
"The (Twitter) account of the Federal Police was hacked," the agency said in a statement. "The information about a bomb scare at Mineirao Stadium on Saturday afternoon during the Brazil-Chile game was false," it said.
The tweet, which was later removed, read: "The bomb threat at Mineirao was confirmed, the evacuation of the venue is not ruled out."
