Rio De Janeiro:
A man accused of imprisoning his daughter for 12 years and fathering seven children with her says that it was a "consenting love" even though he acknowledges it was a crime.
The Terra Internet news portal also reported on its website on Thursday that the accused man fathered a son with another daughter about 17 years ago.
Police say Jose Agostinho Pereira, 54, could face up to 30 years in prison for allegedly keeping his daughter and their children in subhuman conditions in two-room hut in an isolated, jungle area in northeastern Brazil.
He is also accused of abusing two of the young children he had with his daughter.
Terra, citing regional police inspector Laura Amelia Barbosa, reported that a 31-year-old daughter of Pereira's has told authorities that she, too, was abused by her father and bore a son by him.
