'Britain's Got Talent' winner to perform before Queen

London: Singer Jai McDowell, who won "Britain's Got Talent" by beating first runner-up Ronan Parke with 2.5 percent votes and won 100,000 pounds in prize money, is all set to perform in front of Queen Elizabeth.

The 24-year-old will perform at the Royal Variety Performance later this year, reports dailymail.co.uk.

"I feel absolutely amazing, fantastic... it's so much more," said McDowall, a disability support worker from the Ayrshire village of Tarbolton, after winning the contest on Saturday.

He was tipped as the dark horse of the competition by Judge Amanda Holden

McDowall chose to sing Josh Groban's "To Where You Are" during the finals, which stunned TV mogul Simon Cowell.

"That was you at your best. I love that song. For the first time, throughout the competition believing you could win. I don't think the vocal was perfect, it was a little bit monotone... it was still terrific," Cowell said.
