Burj Khalifa Issues Commemorative Stamp On Sixth Anniversary

The stamp depicts the 828-metre tall building, towering over Dubai, at sunset.

Dubai: Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, today issued a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of its sixth anniversary.

The commemorative stamp - Burj Khalifa Heights - was issued in partnership with Emirates Post Group and Emaar Properties at At The Top, Burj Khalifa Sky in celebration of the 6th anniversary of the world's tallest tower, which opened on January 4, 2010.

The stamp depicts the 828-metre tall building, towering over Dubai, at sunset.

Burj Khalifa is one of the top three tourist attractions globally for taking selfies. In 2013, At The Top welcomed more than 1.87 million visitors, the Gulf News reported.

Ahmad Al Falasi, Executive Director at Emaar Properties, said the stamp is a recognition of an architectural marvelthat is "a global icon and a pride of our nation".

"The launch of the commemorative stamp is a fitting tribute to the vision behind Burj Khalifa and the years of hard work by thousands of professionals around the world that went into building it," Mr Al Falasi said.

An estimated 5,000 commemorative stamps will be printed this year to be sold at the retail kiosks at At The Top and all Emirates Post offices for the next six months.
