Miramar:
Dramatic video emerged on Tuesday of a car smashing through the front windows of a southern Californian restaurant on Friday, crashing through tables and chairs and scattering patrons.
The vehicle ploughed into the Surati Farsan Mart in Miramar, near San Diego.
The footage, taken from surveillance cameras inside and outside the store, showed the silver car mounting the curb in front of the restaurant and hitting an unfortunate individual who was just leaving the eatery.
It then smashed through the restaurant's glass front before coming to a halt inside.
Seconds later, the person hit by the car walked away with only minor injuries.
Witness Amir Eslami recalled what he remembered of the incident.
"I was sitting at that restaurant. I heard the noise of the tyres, immediately broken glasses and a scream of the ladies," he said.
Two other people suffered slight injuries.
The restaurant's CCTV footage shows the driver emerging from the motionless vehicle as shocked staff look on and pick up tables and chairs.
Police say the driver wasn't hurt, and apparently mistook the accelerator pedal for the brake.
It is not yet known if the driver will be charged for the incident.
