Kabul:
A suicide bomber detonated himself at the gate of a Shi'ite Muslim mosque in the Afghan capital as worshippers gathered for Friday prayers while another attacker went inside, police said.
Witnesses told Reuters gunmen threw grenades and then entered the mosque. Police who had surrounded the building said the attack had caused some casualties and they were preparing to try to clear the mosque.
Ministry of Interior spokesman Najob Danish said there were casualties but did not provide details.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but ISIS terrorists have attacked Shi'ite Muslim targets in Afghanistan in the past.
