Chile miners to play football game: President
Copiapo, Chile: Chile's 33 rescued miners are to play a football game later this month against officials who helped extract them to safety, President Sebastian Pinera said today after visiting the men in hospital.
        
"The winners will get La Moneda (the presidential palace), and the losers will have to go back into the mine," Pinera joked to reporters.
       
The proposal for the game, to take place October 25, was warmly welcomed by the 33 miners, television images of them inside the hospital with the president showed. They cheered and clapped when Pinera outlined the idea. The president said one of the miners who was a professional soccer player in Chile in the 1980s and 1990s, Frank Lobos, would captain the miners' side.
