Climate summit badly handled: Jairam Ramesh

Copenhagen: As talks in Copenhagen are on the verge of collapse, Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh said the developing nations are upset at the way the negotiations have been held and that the process has been very badly handled.

Two days to go for the climate summit to end, there is still no consensus on a deal.

Hopes for a legally binding agreement are fading with industrialised countries refusing to offer any commitments on mitigation, finance and technology.

With time running out at Copenhagen, India and its basic partners -- Brazil, South Africa and China -- have been burning the midnight oil to deal with the emerging situation.

The countries held a marathon meeting that went on for nearly three hours till late in the night.
