The Coast Guard today apprehended 26 Pakistani fishermen and seized their five fishing boats off Gujarat coast near Kutch as they crossed the Indian territorial waters.
These Pakistani fishermen on five boats were held when they were inside Indian territory, said a release by Defence public relations officer.
"The ICG vessel C-419 apprehended five Pakistani fishing boats with 26 crew members on board in Indian waters. These boats and the crew are being escorted to Jakhau port for further investigation," it added.
This is the second such apprehension in recent times by the Coast Guard off the Gujarat coast.
Earlier in October this year, ICG ship 'Samudra Pavak' seized a Pakistani boat and apprehended 9 crew members onboard, off Gujarat coast during patrolling.
