If they do non-monetary tariff to keep us out of their market, then we will do non-monetary barriers to keep them out of our market..."

Allyson and Lauren, mother and sister of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student who was murdered by a man during a morning jog, were present during Trump's first address to the US Congress.

The very first bill President Trump signed into law this year was named in Laken’s honor. The Laken Riley Act gives federal authorities broader power to detain and deport immigrants who are in the US illegally and have been accused of certain crimes, including shoplifting.

Speaking at the ceremony, Trump said, "It's a tremendous tribute to your daughter what's taking place today, that's all I can say. It's so sad we have to be doing it."

Veteran congressman Al Green of Texas stood up, raised and shook his cane and shouted at Trump, prompting jeers from Republicans across the aisle and leading congressional aides to escort the African-American lawmaker out of the House of Representatives chamber as Trump looked on. 

"I return to this chamber tonight to report that America’s momentum is back. Our spirit is back. Our pride is back. Our confidence is back," Trump said during the most highly anticipated speech since his inauguration six weeks ago. "And the American Dream is surging -- bigger and better than ever before. The American dream is unstoppable, and our country is on the verge of a comeback the likes of which the world has never witnessed, and perhaps will never witness again," he added.
