Copenhagen: Riot police arrested dozens of anti-capitalist protesters today as around 200 people tried to block a section of Copenhagen's port on the sidelines of UN climate talks here.

The demonstration, called by Climate Action Justice, drew around 200 people, many of whom had already been arrested at a mass demonstration in the city yesterday and then released.

Chanting the slogan "Hit the Production" the demonstrators, many wearing balaclavas, were confronted by police outside the Oesterport rail station close to the headquarters of Danish shipping giant Moeller-Maersk.

Meanwhile, Danish police said on Sunday they had released almost all of the nearly 1,000 climate protesters arrested during a weekend mass rally in Copenhagen.

Only 13 were still in detention today afternoon. Two Danes and a French national were brought before a court and charged with violence against police.

Tens of thousands of people took part in yesterday's march to the heavily guarded conference centre where world powers are struggling to hammer out a deal to combat global warming.
