Oslo:
Police say a Lithuanian truck driver suffered broken bones but survived after his vehicle tumbled 60 meters (200 feet) down a snow-covered cliff in central Norway, pulling a tow truck with it.
Police spokesman Geir Riise said on Monday that the truck didn't have the right tires and was being towed up a serpentine mountain road in Leirfjord, some 700 kilometers (435 miles) north of Oslo, when it slid to the side and tipped over the guard rail.
A video shot from another car showed the trailer rolling down the side of the cliff, pulling along the rescue vehicle.
The tow truck driver jumped out just in time but the Lithuanian driver went down with the larger truck. He was taken to a hospital which said he had several bone fractures but is in stable condition.
