Elinor Ostrom, Oliver Williamson share Nobel Prize for Economics

Stockholm: Elinor Ostrom and Oliver Williamson of the United States have shared the Nobel Prize for Economics, which was announced on Monday.

Born in 1933, Elinor Ostrom from the Indiana University received the Nodel for Economics for her analysis of economic governance, especially the commons. Ostrom is the first woman to win the prize since it was founded in 1968.

Oliver E. Williamson from the University of California received this award for his analysis of economic governance, especially the boundaries of the firm.
