Elon Musk visited the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco Wednesday

New Delhi:

Elon Musk has changed his bio to "Chief Twit" ahead of the closing of his $44 billion Twitter acquisition deal. The Tesla CEO also visited the San Francisco headquarters of Twitter and walked the halls of the office carrying a sink on Wednesday. He shared a video of his visit with the caption, "Entering Twitter HQ - let that sink in!"

In the video, Elon Musk is seen carrying the sink and saying that he was trying to sink in. Earlier, the Chief Marketing Officer of Twitter, Leslie Berland, had reportedly told the staff in an email that Musk plans to visit the San Francisco office ahead of the deadline for closing the deal.

The closing of the deal would be a culmination of a series of dramatic developments since the billionaire announced his decision to acquire the microblogging platform in April.

In July, however, the Tesla CEO terminated the deal, accusing the Twitter leadership of violating the purchase agreement by misrepresenting the number of spam and fake bot accounts.

Twitter responded by suing Musk and arguing that he had used the bots as a pretext to exit the deal.

Last week, in a U-turn, Musk confirmed that he will move forward with the deal at the originally agreed price -- $54.20. The judge hearing the legal battle over the deal then put on hold the proceedings till October 28. So, if the deal does not close tomorrow, the trial will resume.

According to SocialTracker, a platform that tracks the social media presence of influencers, Elon Musk is now the third most followed on Twitter, behind former US President Barack Obama and singer Justin Bieber.
