Beijing:
A family of three on a ferris wheel in China's Zheijang province was left dangling in mid-air after the ride operator went to sleep.
The incident took place at a park in Yiwu in Zhejiang.
For nearly an hour Sunday, the family was stuck after the operator switched off the ride thinking no one was on it, China Daily reported Thursday.
The couple and their six-year-old daughter shouted for help but that failed to wake up the operator.
They then called the police who woke up the sleeping operator.
The operator said he didn't know that someone was riding the ferris wheel and switched it off to save electricity.
