US investigative agency the FBI has rejected the Taliban's claim on New York state shooting. Earlier, Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud had claimed responsibility for the shooting in which 14 people lost their lives.
According to an agency report, Taliban militant leader Baituallah Mehsud called them up and claimed responsibility for the attack.
As per the news agency, Baitullah Mehsud called up from an undisclosed location and said, "I accept responsibility. They were my men. I gave them orders in reaction to US drone attacks."
New York witnessed a massacre on Friday night as a gunman went on a shooting rampage at an immigration service centre, killing 13 people and wounding 4 others. He then shot himself.
It's not clear if there were any Indians among the dead and injured. Thirty-seven people survived the ordeal that lasted more than four hours. At around 10 o'clock on Friday night India time, authorities received a 911 call from a receptionist at the American Civic Association in Binghamton, who said she'd been shot.
It was unclear how long before the 911 call did the rampage begin, but by the time police arrived, about two minutes later, the shooting had stopped.
