Melbourne: Australian media is reporting that a gurudwara in Melbourne has been damaged in a fire on Tuesday night.
The police does not believe the gurudwara was targeted by arsonists. They suspect a bonfire surged out of control.
The gurudwara was under-construction on Evans Road in Lynbrook in South East Melbourne.
In the last few weeks, India has expressed its anger over a series of attacks against Indians. Australia has rejected that these attacks have been racist. A 21-year-old student from India was murdered last weekend. And on Tuesday, an Indian who is a permanent resident of Australia was kicked and punched by a group of Australians on a Sydney beach. One person has been arrested for that attack.
