Moscow:
A Russian nuclear submarine undergoing repairs caught fire today, a local emergency representative said, though reports indicated the vessel was not carrying nuclear weapons.
"There was a fire" on the submarine at the Zvyozdochka shipyard in the northern Arkhangelsk region city of Severodvinsk, confirmed the representative answering the phone at the local emergency services center.
"They are putting out the fire," she told AFP.
