Moscow:
Russian authorities say rescue workers have saved 20 people from the rooftop of a burning building in Moscow.
The Emergency Situations Ministry says firefighters used ladders today to save the people trapped on the roof of the eight-storey building, which sits about one kilometre from the Kremlin.
The building is undergoing reconstruction and is to house a hotel. The cause of the blaze wasn't immediately clear.
The fire sent plumes of smoke high into the air. The city fire department has scrambled more than a dozen of fire engines to extinguish the blaze.
