Five Indian tourists drugged, robbed by prostitute in Pattaya

Kuala Lumpur: Five Indian tourists have been apparently drugged and robbed by a prostitute hired by them in the beach town of Pattaya.

Four of the five Indian nationals appeared inebriated, while another, identified as Mandeep Singh, was unconscious, police was quoted as saying by the Bangkok Post today.

Singh was later rushed to a hospital. Glasses of alcohol, a soft drink and used condoms were found in the room, the paper said, adding that the incident happened yesterday.

The men told the police that they paid the prostitute whom they met on Pattaya, a popular beach resort in Thailand on Friday.

They said they fell unconscious after consuming alcohol and soft drink the woman gave them and after regaining consciousness, they found the woman had gone and their bag containing 6,000 baht and USD 1,000 in cash was missing, the paper said.

The police believed the five men have been drugged. A hotel cashier told police she saw the woman running away with the bag, the daily said. Police said they will issue a warrant for her arrest.
