Islamabad:
At least five persons were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in was targeted with a roadside bomb in Pakistan's restive northwestern Bajaur tribal region on Friday.
The attack occurred in Salarzai sub-division of Bajaur tribal agency, officials of the local administration said. The vehicle was targeted with a remote controlled bomb, they said.
At least five persons in the vehicle were killed and several others were injured, the officials told TV news channels.
The vehicle was destroyed by the blast. Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a rescue operation.
Security forces had conducted a major operation against the Taliban in Bajaur last year.
