Five people, including a woman, were killed in a mid-air collision between two small planes over northeast of Saskatoon, Canada, officials said.
One plane, a Lake Buccaneer amphibious plane occupied by a man and a woman, was travelling from Regina to La Ronge. The second airplane, a Piper PA-28 with two men and a young male, was on its way from Calgary to St. Brieux. There were no survivors, Royal Canadian Mounted Police said.
The plane that took off from Alberta was scheduled to land at a Bourgault Industries landing strip located northeast of St. Brieux, where it was to pick up air seeder parts. Wreckage of the two planes was found about 10 km west of St. Brieux, 'Vancouver Sun' reported.
Police say the first plane was found submerged in a small body of water and their investigation has determined it collided with the second plane.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada said investigators are on their way to the area, the report said.
TSB general manager Peter Hildebrand said it is unlikely the planes had black boxes.
