Mumbai:
A Miami police officer was surprisingly able to walk away from the scene uninjured despite running his police vehicle up a light utility pole on a residential street in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The vehicle got caught on electrical wires that left it leaning in a nearly vertical position against the pole.
Miami police detective Willie Moreno said the accident happened when the officer behind the wheel reached down to pick up a pen he had dropped.
The officer stopped paying full attention to the road and veered off to the side, hitting and partially driving up the light pole.
Neighbours woke up to the scene and were surprised to see the driver walk away unscathed.
"I've never seen anything like this, except in video games. You know, I've run the car up a pole, but, no, not in real life," said one resident who was on scene at the crash.
The vehicle was towed away later in the day.
