Here is an overview of France's worst railway disasters over the past three decades, a day after the country suffered its first deadly TGV accident.
- November 14, 2015: Eleven people are killed and 37 injured, including several children, after a TGV train derails during a test run in northeast France, the first fatal accident since the high-speed trains were introduced more than 30 years ago.
- August 8, 2015: Three people are killed when a regional train hits a car in northwestern France, dragging the burning vehicle several hundred metres.
- April 21, 2015: Some 30 people are injured when a passenger train carrying 350 people slams into a truck on its way out of Paris to the eastern town of Belfort.
