PARIS: France's prime minister says that a total of six people carried out the deadly attacks on the cafe and Splendid Hotel in Burkina Faso's capital - and three are still on the loose.

A total of 30 people were killed in last Friday's attacks on targets in Ougadougou frequented by Westerners.

Burkina Faso authorities say only that three attackers were killed.

Manuel Valls told the French National Assembly on Tuesday that three were killed and "three are still being sought." He didn't elaborate. He also said that three attacks in Burkina Faso that day were "distinct but certainly coordinated."

In addition to the Ouagadougou attack he referred to a kidnapping of an Australian couple and an attack in the north on a district administrator's escort that killed two people.
