London:
In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old boy in France accidentally shot and killed his father while they were out hunting - before turning the gun on himself.
The teenager from Salignac, slipped on leaves and accidentally pulled the trigger, firing a bullet at his father in Sourribes, Alpes-de-Haute Provence, on Saturday.
The bullet struck his 42-year-old father in the legs.
The boy then called a family member who contacted emergency services but the father succumbed to the injuries after hemorrhaging and died before paramedics arrived.
The distraught adolescent then turned the gun on himself and dropped dead beside his father's body, 'The Telegraph' reported.
"It is a hunting accident caused unintentionally by the boy who, realising the irreversible consequences, turned the weapon on himself and killed himself," said prosecutor
Stephane Kellenberger.
