London:
Libya's long-time ruler Muammar Gaddafi is convinced NATO jets or his own countrymen would soon kill him, and in fear now hides in a different hospital every night, according to British intelligence.
Spies from MI6, who are responsible for supplying the British government with foreign intelligence, told Prime Minister David Cameron that Gaddafi was on the run, The Sun reported.
Gaddafi, 69, is using hospitals in capital Tripoli to hide.
"The consensus is that we need to be turning the screw now. He (Gaddafi) is very paranoid. The regime is beginning to fracture," a senior official said.
NATO has said its warplanes have conducted 6,000 missions over Libya. In an attack on Gaddafi's compound May 1, his son Saif al-Arab Gaddafi and three of his grandchildren were killed.
