Phoenix:
Police in Phoenix say the body of a 10-year-old girl was found in a small trunk that she apparently used it for a game of hide-and-seek.
Authorities say it appeared the South Phoenix girl used the foot locker for the game on Monday night with neighbourhood children and some cousins. They say she possibly died of positional asphyxiation, suffocation or was somehow overcome and passed out inside the container.
Police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump says her family found the girl outside a home on Tuesday morning but could not revive her.
Police say it appears to be an accidental death.
The Arizona Republic reports that the girl lived with her grandmother, an aunt and uncle and at least three other siblings.
