Glitch leads to adult video on kids channels

Raleigh, North Carolina: A cable TV spokeswoman says preview clips for adult programming appeared on two channels dedicated for kids in North Carolina because of an "equipment failure."

Time Warner Cable Inc. spokeswoman Melissa Buscher said the problem lasted about two hours Tuesday morning in areas around Raleigh, and several parents called to report it.

Buscher said it happened on two "Kids on Demand" channels that were showing viewers a list of children's programming such as Dora the Explorer. The titles listed didn't match up with the preview videos in the right-hand corner of the screen, which showed a preview of adult programming instead of kids programming.

"We're very, very sorry it happened - we know parents are concerned," a spokesman told local news station WRAL. "It was a technical malfunction that caused the wrong previews to be shown on our kids' on-demand channels. Unfortunately it hit at the worst possible time on the worst possible channels."
