Dhaka:
Officials at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka, seized 48 gold bars from a cargo hold off a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight on Thursday.
The Dhaka-bound aircraft from Dubai was raided at 3.00 am after it landed, BD News 24 quoted customs assistant commissioner Md Ruhul Amin as saying.
The gold bars weigh 5.5 kg in all and are valued at Tk 25 million ($321,875), Amin said.
However, no one has been arrested or detained yet.
The gold bars were found hanging from a black cloth inside the cargo hold of the aircraft, Amin said.
