Google Celebrates 126th Anniversary of the Public Opening of the Eiffel Tower

Google is celebrating 126th Anniversary of the Pubic Opening of the Eiffel Tower by posting an animated construction of Eiffel Tower on its homepage.

The beautiful tower is named after its engineer Gustave Eiffel and is 324 feet tall. It is made up of 18,038 metallic parts and 7,300 tons of iron. The construction cost of the tower is 8 million francs (which is over 34 million in present US dollars). Most of the construction cost was provided by the French government and the Gustave.

The construction of the Eiffel Tower was completed on March 31, 1889 and since then tourists from all over the world have been visiting Paris to see the Eiffel Tower.

Interestingly, Gustave also designed Statute of Liberty.
