Hacker group might target internet today: Interpol Chief
New Delhi: Interpol Chief Ronald Noble on Friday warned that a group of hackers might try to shut down internet service today. "Operation Global Blackout 2012 looks to shut down the internet for a whole day on Saturday by disabling its core DNS servers, making websites inaccessible," Noble said here. He said the hacker group 'Anonymous' is protesting against Wall Street and irresponsible leaders. The Interpol Chief was delivering 13th DP Kohli memorial lecture on 'Multi-jurisdictional Investigation: Operation Unmask'.

The event was organised by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here. "Investigations have already been launched by Colombia, Chile and Spain as their private and public websites have been attacked by the group," Noble said.
