The latest Trump feud is one he can't win, considering the person throwing the punches is no longer around to hear his retort.

In a typed letter to her friend Doris Leapard dated Aug. 25, 1990, the late author Harper Lee expressed her disdain for the mega-mogul's Atlantic City hotel-casino complex.

"The last set of visitors departed today: the worst punishment God can devise for this sinner is to make her spirit reside eternally at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City," the then-New York resident wrote after taking out-of-town visitors to the Jersey Shore, shortly after the casino's opening.

The letter is being auctioned off by Nate D. Sanders Auctions until Thursday, with a starting bid of $750. As of Tuesday morning, the highest bid placed on the piece of memorabilia was $1,330.

The Trump Taj Mahal filed for bankruptcy a year after opening. Billionaire Carl Icahn, owner of Atlantic City's Tropicana Casino, took over the complex this year. Trump doesn't have any remaining ownership in his other Atlantic City properties anymore either - the Plaza closed, and the Castle is under new ownership.
