Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign announcement video may have garnered nearly 40 lakh views on YouTube in the last 3 days, but it seems Russia is a little wary of it.
According to reports, a Russian TV channel aired Ms Clinton's first campaign video with an adult rating stamp. Why? Because the video features a gay couple holding hands.
In the video, where everyone talks about a new beginning, the couple speaks about how excited they are about impending wedding. One of the men says, "I'm getting married this summer to someone I really care about."
The move to give the video an '18+ rating' is in line with Russia's controversial 'gay propaganda' laws.
A spokesperson for the TV channel told that they didn't want to break the law, which bans 'propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations around minors'.
"There are no legal precedents for this law, so we just don't know what comes under this law and (what) doesn't," he told CNN in an interview.
The law bans public events and dissemination of information on the LGBT community to minors. It was signed by Vladimir Putin in 2013.

Early in 2013, the former senator had first declared her support for same-sex marriage. She had said, "Gay rights are human rights, and human rights are gay rights."
