Islamabad: In yet another attack on miniorities in Pakistan, a 56-year old doctor belonging to the Hindu community was shot dead in Karachi, it was reported on Friday.
"Pireetam Das was sitting in his clinic located in Hasrat Mohani Colony at midnight on Thursday when someone attacked him," Akhtar Farooq, SSP Investigation said.
The police official added the doctor's attendant had gone to buy a mobile card when the doctor was attacked in the Pak Colony area of the metropolis late Thursday.
"Hearing the gunshot, the assistant rushed to the clinic and found the doctor bleeding," added Mr Farooq.
SSP Investigation said the suspect(s) did not take any valuables. He added police were investigation the incident.
Earlier, two members of the Hindu community were among three people shot dead in an attack on a wine shop in the Abbas Town area of the metropolis.
