Doha:
The director of the International Air Transport Association says the group will prepare a draft of new recommendations in September to improve global tracking capabilities in the aftermath of the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
IATA director Tony Tyler says the draft will be presented before the UN International Civil Aviation Organization. Experts from both the IATA and ICAO will make the recommendations.
Tyler says the loss such as the March 8 disappearance of the Malaysian plane with 239 people aboard "must not happen again."
He spoke on Monday at the IATA's annual meeting held this year in the Gulf-Arab nation of Qatar.
The IATA represents 240 airlines carrying 84 percent of all passengers and cargo worldwide.
