India not scaling down Afghan operations: NSA

India not scaling down Afghan operations: NSA
Kabul: National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon has said that India is not going to scale down operations in Afghanistan even after the recent blast that killed seven Indians.

He reiterated what the Prime Minister said in Parliament on Friday - that the attack will not deter India.

"We will continue to perform all our function as we did earlier," Menon said.

The NSA's message is loud and clear that India will not bow down to terrorist threats in Afghanistan.

"I was very reassured by the set of measures that the Afghan authorities will be putting in place for the Indian community as a whole, not just the embassy and those working on government of India projects, but also for other Indians who are in Afghanistan," Menon said.

But New Delhi is clearly worried after last week's attacks in Kabul. It has already initiated a whole lot of security related steps. A group of 20 Indians who used to live under one roof now has been scattered to more secured places to reduce the concentration of Indians in one place. And it is also contemplating sending more security forces to protect Indians there.
