Washington:
India is destined to play a vital role in addressing key global agricultural challenges, the United States has said.
"India will play a vitally important role in solving these kinds of challenges, not only for India, but for the region and the world," State Department spokesman P J Crowley told reporters here.
"We would certainly reflect, and the Secretary (of State) has talked before about the importance of the first Green Revolution and what it has meant to food security in India and other aspects of the developing world," he said in response to a question.
Crowley said that that the US would certainly want to see how they might be able to work collaboratively on a Green Revolution 2.0.
The response has come a day after the Under Secretary of State Bob Hormats delivered remarks at the Khalsa College in New Delhi.
