Chennai:
The Indian Christian Federation today condemned the assassination of Pakistan's Minority Affairs Minister Shahbaz Bhatti. "When there was no safety for the Minister who was voicing concern for minority welfare, one can imagine the plight of minorities in that country," the Federation said in a statement here.
The Federation also expressed concern over the "silence" of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi over the assassination.
Bhatti, a vocal critic of the controversial blasphemy law, was brutally assassinated in front of his house in Islamabad on March 2.
